EPO Accepting Color and Grayscale Drawings as from 1 October 2025
As of 1 October 2025, the European Patent Office (EPO) accepts filings of color or grayscale drawings without conversion to black and white if they are submitted via any of the EPO’s electronic filing tools. This feature is available for all European patent applications and subsequent electronic submissions, but does not apply to PCT applications received at the EPO as a receiving Office or other documents filed in the international phase.
